a)Classification of bondings:

The bond in which a pair of electrons bind atoms A and B is called a covalent bond, and it is written as A-B or A:B. Since two pairs of electrons are involved in a double bond and three pairs in a triple bond, they are designated by A=B, AB or A::B, or A:::B, respectively. The covalent bond is very simple but very useful concept. Unshared pair of valence electrons is called lone pairs, and they are expressed by a pair of dots like A:

According to Pauling's electro neutral principle each component of net electrical charge of a compound is essentially neutral. The structures of many solid compounds are described as an alternate array of cations and anions and are classified into several crystal types. Metal atoms are bound together by means of the conduction electrons originating from the valence electrons of metal atoms. The bond due to the conduction electrons in a bulk metal is called the metallic bond.

A chemical link between two atoms which is caused due to electro static force between oppositely charged ions in an ionic compound is called an ionic bond.

The weak interaction of hydrogen atom forms with the atoms (nitrogen, oxygen, fluoride, etc...) with larger electro negativity than that of hydrogen is called the hydrogen bond. Hydrogen bonding plays an important role in ice and the structure of double helix of deoxyribonucleic acid etc.

b)Geometrical factors governing bonding and structure:

Radii and electron determine the bonding structure and reaction of elementary substances and compounds. Much effort has been devoted to find numerical values for these two factors applicable to all materials. It is expected that the chemical properties of a known compound and of a still non-existent new material can be predicted with a combination of appropriate numerical values.

Atomic and ionic radii:

The electron density in atoms gradually approaches but never reaches to zero as the distance from the nucleus increases. Therefore the radius of an atom or ion is indeterminable. However, it is possible to determine the bond distance between atomic nuclei experimentally. Atomic radii determined experimentally are one of the most important atomic parameters describing the structural chemistry of compounds. It is reasonable to define the metal radius of a bulk metal as half of the distance between metal atoms. Half of the range between atoms is defined also as the covalent radius of a covalent elementary substance. To the World Medical Association, a body that regulates this field by global agreement called the Declaration of Helsinki.

This was announced by Dr. Alfredo Benavides Zuniga, a member of the Ethics Committee of the Medical College of Peru, who noted that the CMP in exercise of its powers and representing physicians and Peruvian medicine, will present these and other proposals, some of which were collected in the forum "New revision of the Helsinki Declaration", which was held last week with the participation of national specialists in Bioethics.

In the Forum organized by the Medical College of Peru, Dr. Dante Ananos participated castile, president of the Ethics Committee of the Medical College, Dr. Solomon Zavala Sarrio member of the Institute for Ethics in Health National University of San Marcos and among others, Dr. Armando Calvo, researcher and professor at the Universidad Cayetano Heredia. This meeting was attended by 120 participants representing various institutions and organizations related to this field.

According to Dr. Benavides, the proposals present the CMP obey its role as an organization that protects the rights of people and specifically participants in clinical trials, to complement the regulatory role of the state through competent organizations currently force.

He said that the Declaration of Helsinki came in 1964 promoted by the World Medical Association (WMA). Is an independent and representative, and great ethical value, 50 Years Declaration of force in the global arena next year and its function is to provide guidelines that can protect people who participate in clinical trials and other activities related to the development of biomedical research. While its provisions are not binding can be assumed by the signatories and incorporated into national specific legislation.
