A Brief History of Scientific Computing

The concept of computing began as early as the cavemen who used their digits to perform calculations. In the realm of science and technology, the place where all the magic happens is the laboratory. However, scientific computing can only be said to have begun with the inventions of machines that solved mathematical problems. The simplest and most probably the earliest device to perform calculations is the abacus which was invented by the Chinese. Scientists like Blaise Pascal and Charles Babbage although at different times, dedicate their time and energy to invent mechanical machines to help with arithmetic problems. Charles Babbage had a breakthrough when he had the idea of the 'analytical engine'. This is essentially where the concept of computers began. After this point more attention was being given to this field as we had a need to compute complex problems in order to understand the universe that we're a part of. The following section of the article, talks briefly about the several stages of development in the field of computing.

Modern Numerical Analysis

Numerical analysis, as we went through earlier, has a rich past dating back to the cavemen. However, what we consider as modern numerical analysis began with the advent of programmable electronic computers which made it much faster and easier to solve large and very complex problems. Since the need to solve such problems was a need of almost every field of human interest, scientific informatics started to develop as a field that focuses on information processing and information systems.

Explosive Breakthroughs

As noted by Robert Anton Wilson, human knowledge has been increasingly doubling since the year 1 C.E. After programmable computers were developed enough, scientific computing started advancing much rapidly and scientists ventured into deeper analysis of mathematical models and quantitative analysis techniques. Numerical simulations and data analysis made way for some of the most useful practical applications that we still use today.

Current Day Computing

Today, we literally have millions of uses for computers and almost every industry on the globe makes use of computers in different ways to different ends. Biomarker Strategies is a company that is developing a live tumor cell testing platform which is expected to improve the treatment of cancer. We certainly have come a long way from turning gears in order to solve simple arithmetic problems. Life science informatics, data mining and information analysis, internet informatics and social computing, to name a few are the fields that are receiving much attention in the recent years.

Earth Science Homework Help

Earth science deals with the study of Earth and geographic evidences grouped under solid earth science or 'Geology', derived from Greek word Geo meaning 'earth' and logy meaning 'study of'. Earth is a huge system and several billion years old as the determination of its age becomes difficult due to the elimination of older rocks by natural ruins. 'Dating' is a technique used to find out the age of global components e.g. tree dating - the tree rings found in trunk establishes its age; one ring is equal to a year. Land, water and space bodies, climatic and atmospheric factors comprise earth science. The structure of the earth includes outer crust, mantle (upper and lower) and core (inner and outer). Lithosphereis made of rocks;the major part of the earth as it is formed of crust and uppermost layer of mantle. Tectonic plates are found in the semi-mantle region and collision of these leads to earthquake and melting of crusts to volcanic eruptions thereby destructing natural environment. These explosions and earthquake imparts a low-frequency energy waves known as seismic waves, that determines the precision of the disasters occurred. Seismograph is used to detect and document earthquakes.

Water covers approximately 70% of earth's surface and the water mixes with the melting hot mantle to become magma and rises to form volcano. These magma or lava develops into igneous rocks. The other two common types of rocks are sedimentary and metamorphic rocks: sedimentary rocks are sediments of rock particles by weathering and metamorphic rocks by transforming one form into another (metamorphosis). Weathering refers to the process of breaking down of rock and travelling through places by water forces like sea, ocean, water currents and beds.

Sun radiates heat energy to the Earths atmosphere and maintains the temperature of the planet. The factors that affect the heat energy are temperature, energy in motion, earth's rotations, revolutions and seasons. Air, water and weather also balance the earth's atmospheric heat. Natural catastrophe is the destruction and damage in nature caused to life and land respectively. The causes for the natural disaster are directly proportional to the human's maintenance of vegetation and wildlife: proper regulatory natural resource management improves the ground but loss of which leads to biological hazards. Flood and cyclones are predictable whereas earthquake, volcanoes along with tsunami are unpredictable. Natural resources are the daily needs of mankind for better living and are categorized based on origin (biotic e.g. flora, fauna and fossil fuel, and abiotic e.g. air, land, water and heavy metals) and renewability(renewable - air and sun, and non-renewable resources - minerals).

How to Utilize Automated Laboratory Processes to Stay Relevant

Investments in drug discovery technologies continue to reward the scientific community at large with developments in analytic procedures like cell based assays. As the need for constant improvement drives investors to seek out the next big thing, we continue to see incredible developments in drug discovery technologies worldwide. Keeping pace with the developments can be difficult, but indeed the need the do so far outweighs the difficulty.

These developments have brought numerous benefits to the lab, including the removal of the need for manual cell counting. Like many advancements in recent years, improvements in various cell based assays have rewarded researchers with improved efficiency and more accurate results. Cell based assays utilize cell counts to measure a variety of information-including the number of living cells or particular cell ratios-and depend on the requisite equipment's ability to accurately measure changes in specific physical characteristics, such as fluctuations in electrical current or light transmission. While that necessary precision required the undivided attention of lab techs in the past, today's cell based assays can instead depend on advanced automated equipment and techniques. The advancements in the relevant drug discovery technologies has led to the production of equipment and techniques that far surpass the limits we had once imagined these machines would be capable of. More automation in the processes themselves have freed up time for teams to focus their attentions and interests on more pertinent points of interest elsewhere.

As the technology utilized in drug discovery continues to advance and divest to suit wider needs, we're seeing a variety of benefits. The automation that cell based assays have benefited from has spread to other fields, labs and processes. Worldwide, we're seeing the implementation of other automated processes that can handle incredibly complicated tasks. While these tasks were once seen as too complex, valuable or demanding to simply leave in the hands of a machine, more and more R&D centers are coming to depend on them for a variety of reasons. Indeed, the most pertinent reason may be the significant amount of time and manpower that these automated processes free up. With a top of the line machine of sufficient sophistication, a surprising number of repetitive processes can now be accomplished with the bare minimum of human input. Considering adopting more automated processes is no longer a luxury for the most well funded labs. Instead, with each and every day it's quickly becoming a requirement for any lab that's hoping to stay relevant.

Contributions of Biology in Civilization

Biology is one of the major disciplines of science which is taught in high school and college for most students. Typically this is a mandatory study required to graduate from high school where students learn a variety of knowledge ranging from anatomy, taxonomy and the interaction of organisms in ecosystems. Biology has played an important role throughout history during the birth of civilization to help differentiate humans from the animal kingdom.

Biology was primarily studied in ancient times as sub discipline of medicine. Physicians were some of the primary contributors to the foundation that formed modern day biology. Biological studies were essential in ancient civilizations as healthcare was almost nonexistent and the need to understand illnesses and anatomy was high value information. Agriculture was a big part of ancient civilizations as it allowed humans to settle into geographic regions without the need to migrate to hunt and gather food sources.

The development of agriculture is one of the leading factors that led to the birth of civilizations worldwide however one of the unintended side effects of the development of cities and urban environments was the increase in disease and infections. This is largely associated with the intermingling of close populations of individuals making the spread of diseases more common and dire in growing cities. For centuries the ability to understand what caused diseases was eluded by most people; germs, bacteria and viruses were not known to humans for centuries while civilizations were being formed.

With the ever growing population of people and an increasing trend in urban settlements, the need to understand life became a primary focus of scientific minds in early human development. Kings and monarchs sought to achieve immortality and the concept of doctors and physicians took a priority in scientific studies. Through this quest for knowledge the foundation of science began to grow in human culture. The ancient Greeks are perhaps the most famous for their hand in forming the basis of modern science.

Civilizations, in their quest for knowledge play an integral role in the foundation of science because individuals have the ability to pursue knowledge instead of having to worry about acquiring food sources. The ancient world had many limitations in their ability to pursue knowledge however after the renaissance era scientific study began to flourish significantly. The concepts of evolution, physics, time and space began to take a forefront over health care and resources in the scientific community. Individuals such as Charles Darwin, Carl Linnaeus, Sir Isaac Newton and Galileo contributed vastly to the knowledge taught in school today.

Making a name in the scientific community is not always as easy discovering a new species of life or developing a new theory. The ability to convince peers in the scientific community is part of the reason we are familiar with some of the names listed above. There have been many scientists whose work was used as the foundation of others yet their names have been lost to history. Ultimately success in the scientific community entails the innovation of an individual and their ability to convince others of their ideas.

Fields of biology have evolved throughout the course of human civilization to investigate and acquire knowledge pertaining to relevant needs of humans such as anatomy, medicine and agriculture.

Math, science and technology have always been thought to be the forte of men; nevertheless, the contribution of women for the progress of those fields just can't be disregarded. There were several famed and well-known girls scientists who made significant discoveries and creations within the different branches of science.

Several experts were born in a time when it was considered blasphemous for a girl to venture from the standard functions of the wife, mom and home maker. However, they fought numerous chances to achieve several firsts, the function of several of the girls were recognized as well as their contributions received wide-spread accolades. This is a review of several of the famous women scientists as well as their accomplishments

Madame Curie (Marie Curie): Among the very well-known girl scientist of the current period, Marie Curie worked in France and Poland. She was instrumental in creating the character of radiation and beta rays. Curie was the very first woman to secure a Doctorate in Europe and was also the very first woman recipient of the Nobel Prize that she continued to win yet another time to the prize. How Experiments Help Students with Their Memory Skills?

Students don't always remember everything that they are taught in the classroom setting. For educators across America, this fact is an ever present reminder and constant source of frustration. It seems like students never bother to study, and simple items that you have gone over time and again in your class end up being answered incorrectly on exam papers. It seems that, regardless of how many times you repeat these key concepts in the classroom, there are always those students who either don't pay attention, or have little ability to recall an often repeated fact.

If you are all too familiar with this situation, then you know what it is like to be frustrated by your students and their lack of studying skills. What you probably don't realize is that the school science materials that you depend on to give your students a hands on experience inside your classroom can actually help them maintain their memories in a better way as well.

The core concept behind the science curriculum in America is to give students an opportunity to learn the basic principles that make up the scientific schools of research they will encounter later in life. Granted, not all of your students will become scientists in their older years, but for those few who do, you will be giving them the basic elements they need in order to succeed in life.

For all of your students, whether college-bound or not, your science curriculum can help them to remember better through the school science materials that you end up using in your classroom. As students work their way through the experiments that you have planned for them, you will be encouraging them not only to pay close attention to what they see, but also to take notes about the experiment itself.

There is simply something about the hands on experience that helps it stick out in students minds. The bubbles they witness in the test tube aren't something that they will forget, because they watched them happen with such intensity while taking notes about the reaction itself. Because of this, the hands on experience will cause your students to flashback to these moments when they review their notes, and to relive the experiment in their memories.

The time that you spend performing experiments as a part of your high school science curriculum, your students will begin to create a mental bridge between the act of taking notes and having an active recall of a moment they spent in the classroom. Eventually, this connection will bridge far beyond the need for having a physical experiment in their hands, and turn into a connection that serves them well on future exams. The students in question may not place their newfound ability on your shoulders or know to give you thanks, but the fact that they can associate a hand written sentence with a memory of the classroom itself will serve them wonderfully in years to come.

There are many reasons Science Curriculum is important. Larry Bond believes that SEPUP are helpful in educating a child. Because having these materials at skill provides them opportunity to learn and discover more about science.

Basic Information about Synthacaine Research Chemical

What's Synthacaine?

Synthacaine is an equal combination and preparation of Dimethocaine and camfetamine. Dimethocaine has a property of local anesthetic which is half of cocaine. In other hand Camfetamine is another kind of research chemical which is carefully connected with Fencamfamine .

Those drugs which are used in research laboratory by scientists for human welfare, but nowadays crazy people are playing with these chemicals for fun and even without having any idea of its side effects they are enjoying them for moments.

What's Synthacaine Engaged for?

Synthacaine is helpful to review the results of both chemicals such as Dimethocaine and camfetamine together, to determine if there is any type of competitive binding happening for the similar receptor. This mixture of these chemicals makes it is simple and easy to use them together at the same time into laboratory. It is possible that both combine towards the dopamine receptor as agonists; similar to Fencamfamine However, research is required to understand their action completely. Uniformly it could show its important reaction that can happen between both chemicals when these used in equal conjunction to some membrane implanted with assorted receptors.

Synthacaine is one of the best research chemicals which can be easily found on internet web stores. A wide range of online research chemical shops could be found into search result on google, which are selling Synthacaine online. Thus you need to prevent these web sites together with other assets that offer this kind of option. These web stores are selling such chemicals experiments, and researchers or chemistry students can purchase chemical online just for their research purpose. These chemicals are not offered for personal consumption.

Before dealing with any research chemical shop online, you have to be clear some facts regarding online vendor and website as there is not a lack of online stealers who can make you fool by sending you impure or fake research chemicals. Be careful and read whole the information provided by the website.

Research Chemicals effects negative on human health such as heavy headache, stomach ache, vomiting, anxiety, diarrhea, nausea, cold, tooth grinding, body shivering and it's a big list of other bad effect too.

As a writer, I want to explain that synthacaine is a popular research chemicals and used in number of researches by the researcher. It is a strong chemicals and legally authorized by the governments for scientific and medicals purpose.

Wireless Floor Scales - They Increase Efficiency a Lot

How much a product is going to help increase the efficiency of operations may not be easy to discern just by looking at it. True we can get an idea it would make things easier but it would be difficult for us to quantify how much easier it would make the things. For some innovations it is easy to see the benefits and even if you cannot exactly quantify the benefits you know they will be significant and will be happy to invest in the product if it is reasonably priced.

For example if you have been using a desk top scale to weigh a large number of very heavy objects then switching to a floor scale will make the task much simpler. The benefit and its size is quite obvious. And so you will inquire of the cost of a floor scale and when you find a quality one that is quite affordable you will buy it right away.

However for some innovations it is not easy to know how big a benefit you can hope to enjoy once you are able to understand where the benefit lies. Take for example a wireless floor scale. If you are already enjoying the benefits if having moved to a floor scale you may wonder if there sufficient additional benefit in moving once again and opting for a wireless floor scale. Or if you haven't yet bought a floor scale you may be wondering if it is worthwhile to spend a little more and opt for a wireless floor scale.

And you will be happy to know that though it may not be very obvious a wireless floor scale by increasing the amount of freedom you have to set up your operation, increases the efficiency a lot. The ability to easily take the scale where the weight measurement has to be done is one reason why efficiencies go up a lot. Another is that one operator can focus entirely on loading and unloading weights while another in a remote location can record the readings. Setting up or moving the scale is very easy when there are no messy wires involved.

Lillian Elkins has in depth knowledge of the digital scale industry thanks to his more than 12 years experience in the business. He has deep knowledge of the technical and commercial aspects of the products. You can learn more here .

Organizing Your Middle School Science Classroom

Stuffed away in the cabinets of your science classroom are the interchangeable pieces of dozens of different experiments, which you are in charge of keeping in a straight and orderly fashion throughout the school year. Your middle school science classroom could definitely use a new experimental method so that you don't have to keep sorting through shelves of boxes and bottles to set up for an experiment.

If you are considering changing over to pre-packaged science modules in order to avoid the hassle of trying to find room for all the pieces in your classroom, then you need to be aware of what you are ordering. There are certain things to look for in science modules that signify quality. Here are 4 features to look for in science modules before you get them for your students.

Re-Useable Storage Package

If you're looking to make your middle school science classroom less of a mess, then you need to find science kits that have the ability to store themselves. Quality kits only remain that way so long as you have all of the pieces that they need. When shopping for a module, make certain that the one you are looking at comes in a sturdy container or box with room to realistically put all the pieces back inside. This allows you not only to keep all the pieces of the kit together, but makes it easier to store it as well.

Easy Re-Ordering

For the components inside these science modules, you will need to know that each chemical can be easily replaced. Having to reorder the entire kit simply because you run out of a single bottle of test strips or chemicals simply will not do. It will be a waste of money, and end up costing you in the long run. Each component of the kit should be individually available for re-order, and that ordering process should be a simple one. Make sure you check out the re-ordering options before you get the kit.

Realistic Self-Supplied Parts

Every science kit contains pieces that the educator has to provide in the classroom. Before you order the module in question, make sure that the amount of self-supplied pieces is realistic. This list should be in the information about the kit itself. It is perfectly reasonable to need to provide test tubes, water, or peroxide for science modules to be successful. However, you shouldn't need to provide more items for the kit than the kit itself contains.

Ease Of Reset And Clean Up

Between each of your middle school science classes, you will need to reset the experiment. Because of this, you should make sure that the time to clean up after the last class and to reset the experiment for the next group is feasible. Some kits provide reset options that are so simple, you can talk the previous class through the majority of them before they leave.

There are many reason Middle School Science is important. Larry Bond believes that Science Modules are helpful in educating a child. Because having these materials at skill provides them opportunity to learn and discover more about science.

How Nanofiltration Systems Work

Many of us benefit from the use of nanofiltration in industry and agriculture. For example, if you drink milk or use any dairy products, you are using something that is purified as a result of nanofiltration. It can also be used for purifying drinking water and it may have other benefits as well. Although we may benefit from the use of nanofiltration, many of us do not understand how it works. Here is a basic guide which will help you to understand this type of filtration and how it may benefit you.

In essence, nanofiltration is a type of membrane filtration in which fluid passes through the membrane and any impurities that are in the fluid are filtered out. The type of filtration that is utilized for these purposes is defined by the size of the pores. With nanofiltration, you have very small pores so even the smallest of impurities are going to be filtered out. Another important thing to understand about nanofiltration is the fact that the fluid is encouraged to pass through the membrane and it does not simply do so as a result of gravity. It often has to do with differences in pressure on either side of the membrane which causes the fluid to pass through it.

Nanofiltration may be made from membranes of various materials. At times, it is the material which makes a difference as to whether the majority of the impurities are going to be filtered out of it. It may also be that the fluid that is filtered may go through other filtering processes to remove additional impurities that were not taken care of with nanofiltration.

An example of how nanofiltration might be used is seen in the filtration of water. In many parts of the world, a shortage of drinking water is a constant problem and in many cases, people are drinking dirty water and getting sick as a result. Nanofiltration, which is a form of nano technology, is able to offer a solution for this problem. Not only can it remove contaminants from the water source that needs purified, it can also be used to make drinkable water out of saltwater. The desalinization process takes place with nanofiltration, either for removing the salt from seawater or by removing it from brackish groundwater. In either case, potable water is able to be produced. The only issue that was really seen as a result of filtering the water to that extent is that essential nutrients were also removed from the water source, including magnesium and calcium. In the developing parts of the world, that can be a real issue because those nutrients may not be found in the typical diet of the area.

Regardless of whether nanofiltration systems are being used in developing countries or if they are used in developed countries, they provide a resource that can help to clean water and other liquids. It is something that we all benefit from on a regular basis and we can appreciate the fact that this technology is available.

Travis Radford Photo Travis Radford is a recognized authority on nanofiltration systems and enjoys sharing his knowledge with his readers on the subject. Working at Synder Filtration, he likes to stay up to date on pes membrane technology , and other types of filtration.

Proposed Greater Protection For Patients in Clinical Research

Medical College will present proposals to the World Medical Association

To the World Medical Association, a body that regulates this field by global agreement called the Declaration of Helsinki.

This was announced by Dr. Alfredo Benavides Zuniga, a member of the Ethics Committee of the Medical College of Peru, who noted that the CMP in exercise of its powers and representing physicians and Peruvian medicine, will present these and other proposals, some of which were collected in the forum "New revision of the Helsinki Declaration", which was held last week with the participation of national specialists in Bioethics.

In the Forum organized by the Medical College of Peru, Dr. Dante Ananos participated castile, president of the Ethics Committee of the Medical College, Dr. Solomon Zavala Sarrio member of the Institute for Ethics in Health National University of San Marcos and among others, Dr. Armando Calvo, researcher and professor at the Universidad Cayetano Heredia. This meeting was attended by 120 participants representing various institutions and organizations related to this field.

According to Dr. Benavides, the proposals present the CMP obey its role as an organization that protects the rights of people and specifically participants in clinical trials, to complement the regulatory role of the state through competent organizations currently force.

He said that the Declaration of Helsinki came in 1964 promoted by the World Medical Association (WMA). Is an independent and representative, and great ethical value, 50 Years Declaration of force in the global arena next year and its function is to provide guidelines that can protect people who participate in clinical trials and other activities related to the development of biomedical research. While its provisions are not binding can be assumed by the signatories and incorporated into national specific legislation.

He said that the Declaration of Helsinki periodically records modifications or adaptations to new conditions imposed by the development of technologies and legislation.

Medical Counterparty

He also said that in the historical process of the development of human research oriented policy have appeared to have a different approach to the protection of patients, somehow weakening solid ethical principles of the Declaration, the same that has been modified up to eight times and is in the final, which occurred in the city of Seoul, Korea, has been issued the latest valid version.

However, some associations and organizations involved in research have made important criticisms, especially in countries like ours, have vulnerable populations who might be injured if not taken proper care are involved in clinical research .

Also announced that next October will be held in Fortaleza, Brazil, a meeting sponsored by the WMA Council to define the final modifications of the Declaration of Helsinki, so that all institutions submit proposals as the CMP will be collected and evaluated so that future research have the best level of protection for patients.

For this purpose the proposals of the Medical College of Peru will be forwarded to the World Medical Association on 15 of this month.

Review of High Throughput Screening Approaches for Drug Discovery

In the field of medical technology, the breakthroughs that have taken place over the past few decades are nothing short of miracles. The scientific fraternity has been working very hard to achieve cures and treatments which will make life easier and longer.

In this regard, the High Throughput Technologies have been certainly gratifying for the medical world because of the many screenings that they work on for the discovery of new and experimental drugs.

Millions in this world have a drug problem, the problem being-they can't have any. With the rising prices for the drugs, the medical society is being pressed time and again for the delivery of generic drugs which the majority of the people in the third world countries can afford.

High Throughput Screening (HTS) is also the same scientific process where experimentation is done in the field of drug discovery. A field which is associated mostly with Biology and Chemistry, the process of HTS is a tedious and time consuming one which helps the scientists to find out whether the drug being discovered is of extremely good quality or not.

There are a number of tools used in the process of determination: The use of robotics is to facilitate the ease of handling corrosive or dangerous materials. Scientists also use high end machinery for determining the control processes in the drug and other liquid handling devices. There are also several detectors and state of the art lab equipment involved which make the entire process of screening and detecting much simpler, efficient and faster.

HTS has made it easier for the scientists and researchers to conduct biological, chemical and pharmacological tests in an easy way. Not just that, the technology has enabled them to identify the stronger compounds easily and biochemical processes have become a breeze. Thus, this process has gained a lot of prominence in the field of medicine now.

Factory Acceptance Testing is another important procedure in the whole process of drug discovery and usage. Though it is not a stringent requirement, but it is necessary for the drug for being accepted in the market. It is a practical process which verifies the safety and usability of various processes.

Thus, any drug which has been tested by the method of HTS, the equipment used in the process as well as the final product formed must have passed the standard test by the use of Factory Acceptance Testing.

Understanding Electrocoating Anode Systems

Anode systems are commonly used in the electrocoating process. Electrocoating is used to deposit paint onto metal by dipping the metal part into an electrically charged paint bath.

The Electrocoating Process

Metal parts are first cleaned and prepped for electrocoating before being dipped into the bath. This paint bath is electrically charged with a current running between the part and an oppositely charged anode. Because of the charge, the is magnetically attracted to the metal part.

According to DuPont's Science of Automotive, the paint solution consists primarily of water with roughly 15 to 22 percent paint solids. Electrocoating attracts these solids to the metal part, creating a film of between 75 to 90 percent solids. Coating continues until the thickness of the layer begins to resist. However, remote interior surfaces begin increasing their current draw, attracting paint solids to them. These remote areas are typically inaccessible using conventional spraying.

Finally, the coated parts are then rinsed to remove undeposited paint solids known as a "cream coat." These paint solids are later recovered by the anode system, allowing for the most efficient use of paint. After rinsing, the parts are then baked in an oven to cure the paint.

The Benefits of Electrocoating

Though electrocoating requires investing in specialized anode systems, electrocoating is a cost-effective choice for manufacturers that use conventional spray coating processes. Electrocoating is less labor-intensive as well. It usually requires one person to operate controls, monitor operations, and replenish paint materials. In addition, electrocoating minimizes paint waste with close to 100 percent of paint material used or recovered for reuse. Inaccessible interior areas can be coated with electrocoating thanks to the electrical attraction of anode systems. The use of volatile organic solvents is minimal with electrocoating, resulting in a more environmentally friendly painting process. In addition, electrocoating produces consistent film thicknesses based on bath temperatures and voltage.

What are Anodes?

Anode systems contain anodes, but what are they? Anodes are electrodes designed to allow an electric current to flow through it. Opposite charges are used. While anodes commonly contain a positive charge, this isn't a given. It depends on the type and purpose of the anode systems in which the anodes will be used. The anode's charge, negative or positive, will influence the flow of electrons inward or outward.

Anode Systems in Electrocoating

Anode systems used in electrocoating typically consist of an anolyte tank and a paint tank. The anolyte tank collects water and spent anolyte solution. A pump is used to pump fresh anolyte solution into the anode which is located in the paint tank. The anode charges the paint solution, allowing for electrocoating. Spent anolyte solution is returned through the anode to the anolyte tank. Anode systems also contain a variety of features such as current monitoring systems, conductivity controllers, UV systems, and ultrasonic level sensors.

Anode systems allow for more efficient painting with a dramatically smaller environmental footprint compared to conventional spraying processes. Lower labor costs, greater utilization of paints, less waste, and fewer volatile organic compounds make anode systems a smart choice.

All That You May Want to Know About Lasers!

Have you ever wondered about how lasers work and what makes them carry out the myriad functions that they carry out? Read on to find out.

Lasers are an indispensible part of our lives these days. We see them being used in so many different forms every day. Remember that cute teenager in your neighborhood who got such a big boost of confidence after getting his eyes operated through laser? Or your trip to the supermarket or to the ATM, the other day? The card that you used to make payments or withdraw money was read by a machine with the help of laser. This brilliant invention is credited to a physicist, Theodore Maiman, and it was first used successfully on May 16, 1960. Since then it has been used in various ways- from drilling holes of various diameters, ranging from a few microns to several millimeters in diameter in the hardest of metals, with pin point precision to the super fine equipment used in the aviation industry and from the technology used to fight cancer to making (GASP!) bombs of the most lethal quality, we find lasers at work everywhere. Laser beams have brought light to the eyes of the blind and have helped cosmetologists remove those ''ugly'' moles, tattoos, wrinkles and even the unsightly and unwanted ''extra'' hair to give their clients the ''Perfect'' faces and bodies that they desire.

While it would be an understatement if we say that different lasers are used to conduct different functions and that the laser which reads your Credit card would be totally inept at removing a mole from your face, this much is obvious that all lasers work by using the same fundamental principle. Even though different lasers operate at different wavelengths from ultraviolet through the visible light spectrum to infrared, they all operate on the same basic principle. So what is that principle? Find out in our next segment. Stay tuned!

Whatever the laser may be being used for, its beam should be controlled and directed with precision. Brief About Applications of Biology

Biology is the science to study about plants, animals and humans interacting with nature. Biology lays a basis for valuing the life processes by assessing the role of cellular and genetic components conjoining with metabolic and homeostatic activities of life. This science operates everywhere and is applied to different genres highlighting the importance to learn about varied applications of biology. In every facets of life, biology grips a role - sensing, hunger, anger, maintaining metabolism, taking care of families, cooking, and where not? The basic feature of biology is that it connects all the scientific and technical disciplines and reveals the importance of their relations.

The applications of biology are extensively noticed in agricultural industry and human welfare. Agriculture plays pivotal role in meeting the daily demands of food and fodder of living beings. Plants, cereals, rice, wheat, maize, corn, vegetables, fruits and grains are the major food components of humans. Hence, it becomes central to maintain and preserve the vegetative crops from pests and insects. Animals like cattle, goat, fish and poultry farming also partake to enhance the life better for humans. Humans encounter discomforts through diseases and disorders where the importance of biology lies upon discovering treatment ideas and novel drugs. Medicinal, pharmaceutical and drug industries, clinical applications of biology have extended topical development in innovating new and real remedies for satisfying hereditary as well as acquired complications.

Biology looks upon monitoring biodiversity and conservation by enforcing the need of maintaining bio-organisms in a secured environment. Biodiversity is often defines as "gene total of species existing in an ecosystem of a particular region" expounding the disparate volume of life forms in a given ecosystem or planet. The significance of Parks, Zoos and Sanctuaries, establishment of seed and germ banks, imposing afforestation and reforestation, environmental reserve management, and holding a balance between biodiversity and biology - plants, animals, humans, agriculture, industries, human health and ethical issues are the basic principles sustained to manage environmental conservation. Many species have vanished, which urges the requisite for retaining gene pool of the genetically diverse species, and those creatures at the verge of extinction, from becoming extinct.

Gene technology, industrial biotechnology, food and textile microbiology, DNA-RNA recombinant technology, production of biomolecules and manufacturing growth and synthetic hormones implicates the condition of biology in connection for human betterment and improvement in developing drugs and medicines. Hygieneand sanitation helps in keeping clean environment both inside and outside the body. Wireless Scale - Minimize The Effort

There was a time when we tried to avoid putting in a lot of effort it may have been thought we were being just plain lazy. But today the world know if you find an easier more convenient way to do something you are being smart and you could make a lot of money by helping people save on the amount of effort required to perform a task.

And technology has helped make a lot of tasks much easier. And when we feel the task has been made so easy it can hardly be made easier still, technology comes along and finds a way to do that. So for example if you think a floor scale was a great product and weighing heavy objects could not get easier you will find that a wireless floor scale makes it even easier to make the weight measurement since now the scale itself can be carried close to where the heavy object is being stored.

In general wireless scales are able to take convenience to a whole new level. If the floor scale is able to reduce the major physical effort required to weigh a heavy object, then a wireless floor scale will eliminate the minor physical functions that may not require a lot of physical effort but still require concentration and expensive man power time. For example with the help of a wireless scale you can have one person record the readings who is centrally located while the person actually placing the objects on the scale's platform can move around and focus just on the placement of the objects and not have to bother with writing down the readings and then giving them all to the person who will use the information later.

You will find there are several digital scales that have a wireless option. They may cost a little more but may offer even bigger savings. Therefore you should evaluate them along with the traditional scale options. A great way to do it is by going online where you can take your time and inform yourself as much as you wish.

Lillian Elkins has in depth knowledge of the digital scale industry thanks to his more than 12 years experience in the business. He has deep knowledge of the technical and commercial aspects of the products. You can learn more here .

Simple Heat Conduction

Heat conduction or Thermal conduction is the transfer of energy between particles in a solid.Heat can also be transferred by Thermal radiation and/or convection and it is normal that more than one of these processes happen at the same time.

In the atomic theory solids, liquids and gases are made of tiny particles called atoms. The temperature of the material measures how fast the atoms are moving and the heat measures the total amount of energy due to the vibration of the atoms.

You might imagine conduction to take place when one part of a material is heated. The atoms in this part vibrate faster and are more likely to hit their neighbours. When collisions take place, the energy is passed on to the neighbouring atoms allowing the energy to travel through the solid. ( Rather like the way energy passes along a set of tumbling dominos.)

The atomic picture also helps explain why conduction is more important in solids: in solids the atoms are close together and unable to move around. In liquids and gases the particles can move past each other, so the collisions are less common

A thermos bottle is an excellent example demonstrating how all three methods are inhibited. A thermos bottle has a double wall that creates a vacuum, and a shiny surface inside of it. We've seen that the shiny part on the inside is an example of radiation, where heat is reflected back from the walls and back to the liquid. Heat conduction is inhibited by the use of insulators such as glass and plastic. Heat does escape, through the body and the lid, but very slowly. The vacuum inhibits convective currents and also conduction.

Grilling, broiling, and cooking over an open flame when you go camping are examples of cooking by radiation. However, when you grill and place your food on the grates, conduction also comes into play. When the air becomes hot, convection currents are created between the air and the food.

When you bake a cake or pot roast, all three methods are once again involved. There are convection currents as the air becomes hot from the oven. The pan the food is in becomes hot due to conduction. The walls of the oven become hot, and this is due to radiation.

We have previously seen that when you boil or steam food, the air and the water is heated by convection. Solid food, however, is heated by conduction, as the atoms inside of it begin colliding with each other.

Aside from cooking, there are simple heat transfer experiments you can do at home.

A Simple Heat Conduction Experiment

Obtain objects of different materials. Ideally, they would be of the same geometry, such as rods made from wood, glass, aluminum, and iron. However, materials such as plastic, wooden, and metal silverware will do. You will also need a heat source such as hot water, a stove burner, a hot plate, or a candle. To make the measurements, use a watch or some other time keeping device, and a simple thermometer. To record your results, use a spreadsheet or graph paper.

For a direct measurement, use masking or electrical tape to attach the thermometer to an object. Submerge it partially in hot water, and take time and temperature readings every few seconds. Graph the temperature versus time by placing the dependent variable, temperature, on the y axis and the independent variable, time, on the x axis. Do this for every object. Compare your results.

For indirect measurements, melt a substance such as candle wax or paraffin on the object. Slowly heat the object, and record the time it takes for the substance to melt. If you are careful, the substance can also be ice, butter, or something similar. In this case, the holder would have to be a spoon.

Remember to use caution whenever doing heat transfer experiments, as the objects and sources will be hot.

What is Boric Acid?

Boric Acid (H3B03), also referred to as Acidum Boricum, Boracic Acid, or Orthoboric Acid, is a natural product made from Oxygen, Hydrogen, and Boron. It is offered as a fine powder or as a clear or white crystalline solid, much like table salt. It's got a relatively greasy texture and is odourless and without taste.

Boric Acid is really versatile and that makes it the most popular compound from the borate group. The applications are aplenty, from nutritional to pharmaceutical, from housekeeping and gardening to industrial and from medical to cosmetic. Its low toxicity degree, at an equivalent rating to every day salt, which contributes to its common utilization in the home.

You can find Boric Acid in water and land which is where it naturally lives. In Turkey, China, the Andes in South America and Death Valley in California are where largest stores of Boric Acid can be found. It's usually located in dry, desert-like locations like volcanic locations, old salt beds and hot springs.

The usage of Boric Acid was common in earlier Middle East and China. The Chinese utilised it in porcelain glazing close to 900 AD. The Arabians utilized it while working silver and gold. Foodstuff preservation was also a very common use of Boric Acid. It's Marco Polo that is acknowledged with bringing the substance to the western world.

One of the initial Boric Acid generation techniques of combining Borax with other minerals goes back to 1702. Subsequently, it had been found that the chemical could be used as an eyewash and antiseptic. Borax afterwards evolved into a popular mineral and exploration launched around the 1860's.

Boric Acid, when taken internally, is considered to be great for joint and bone wellbeing and for arthritic treatment. It has anti-fungal and antiseptic benefits, a minimal level of acidity and is in several beauty and prescription goods. It is used as a vaginal rinse or anal suppository for candida albicans, in acne treatments, as an eyewash for pink-eye or sore eyes, as a powder for athlete's foot or as ear drops for swimmers.

Additionally it is very known as a pesticide and as a herbicide. It acts as a belly toxin and dries the pest's body. It is applied during the processing of powders and traps for the eradication of fleas, silverfish, cockroaches and bedbugs, amongst others.

Boric Acid is a relatively inert chemical substance. Consequently, it generally won't react with other sorts of chemicals. Boric Acid receives its flame-resistant characteristics via its substantial melting point of 170oC. It provides widespread uses in the manufacturing field, in particular or the manufacturing of fiberglass, cement, photography chemicals, paints and glass. It's also used by atomic energy plants to keep control on the fission process. It's able to control the number of neutrons within the chamber, thus regulating the fission process.

Boric Acid boasts a very low level of toxicity. Its toxicity amount is measured via the LD50 chart and its rating is a little higher than basic table salt. Additionally, it is also non-carcinogenic.

Still, it is advisable to be very careful with Boric Acid in sizable amounts, and also over prolonged periods of contact. In a current report, creatures subjected to a sample of 32 mg/kg of Boric Acid over a 90 day cycle developed various sicknesses, including testicular atrophy. In human beings, it is fatal at amounts of 15,000-20,000 mg for adults, 2,000-3,000 mg for infants and 5,000-6,000 mg for children.

Physiological signs that can indicate extreme exposure to Boric Acid are nausea and blisters, bright red breakouts and skin peeling, convulsions and fits, blue-green vomit, diarrhoea and drowsiness and fainting.

Neuro Linguistic Programming Training Courses Will Bring Benefits to Your Life

Living in the fast paced world which we do, we tend to forget that there are alternative ways to deal with everything, including stress and unhappiness. This is where many people have discovered the benefits of neuro linguistic programming. People are finding that neuro linguistic programming courses are helping them to find a better balance and to deal with the stresses of everyday living.

You will find that there is neuro linguistic programming training courses springing up throughout the country and whether it is neuro linguistic programming training Newcastle or neuro linguistic programming training Tyneside, everyone is jumping on to the bandwagon. Although it may seem complicated or long winded, the basic principles are very simple and have been around for decades now.

Is Neuro linguistic programming a "therapy"?

Dr Bandler often distinguishes between Neuro linguistic programming and therapy by defining Neuro linguistic programming as an educational process which can be used to do the things that psychotherapy so rarely manages: to bring about lasting and constructive change. Neuro linguistic programming differs from most therapies in that it is solutions-oriented. It is not interested in analysing and dissecting a "problem", but rather focuses on finding satisfactory outcomes for clients.

You can lower your levels of unhappiness or raise the levels of happiness by transforming your belief portfolio, your preconceived notions, your language patterns that display your innermost feelings, and your unconscious mind that exposes your conscious reactions to the external world. You can similarly get rid of your phobias, if any, by going into the factors that cause your fear in the first place, with the help of neuro linguistic programming training. You can look at things in the way that your adversaries do. You can consider the same things from a totally new perspective. You can study people who have achieved excellence in any particular aspect of their life, find out what qualities and factors contributed to their success and then import the same or similar factors and qualities into your life in an effort to achieve excellence in your chosen field.

It is not possible to NOT communicate with others. We are always communicating, at least non-verbally and even thoughts are communication with the self. The meaning of your communication is the response you get. Communication is not what is intended, but what is received. In short, neuro linguistic programming transforms you into a new you, a happier you and a more effective you, capable of dealing with this world in a much better way than before.

The right neuro linguistic programming course has the ability to make huge and positive changes in both your personal life and in your professional life also. You will find that you have a new confidence in the way that you approach not only every day, but also any problems which may arise. You will have a better understanding of other people and this will make it easier for you to communicate with them professionally and to interact better on a personal level.

The History of Physics

Physics is the study of matter and energy and how these forces interact with space, time and gravity. The study of physics has dated back to the ancient Greeks and fundamentals can be found in writings from Aristotle and Plato. Originally there were not many experiments that could be conducted at that time so physics took on more of a role of theory and tied in closely with many aspects of philosophy at the time. Originally this division of science was referred to as "natural philosophy" and it wasn't until late into the 19th century when it took upon the name physics. Physics played an integral role in the philosophies of ancient civilizations and can be found in ancient Greek, ancient Muslims, ancient Chinese and ancient Indians.

Thales was a philosopher in Greece in the 7th and 6th century BC who today is revered by many as the father of science. Anaximander was another philosopher about a century later who is credited to theorizing the first evolutionary theory which is now known as proto-evolutionary theory. Plato's student Aristotle is credited to writing about a number of topics including physics, biology and mathematics. Archimedes was a mathematician who wrote a great deal about mechanics, buoyancy, equilibrium and gravity. In the 1st century BC Hipparchus wrote about astronomy and mathematics and devised a map of the starts and predicted solar eclipses. And finally Ptolemy was regarded highly among his colleges and later scientists for his development of the scientific treatises. The Greeks played a key role in the foundation of scientific studies which would later be adopted by other civilizations across the world.

Much of the knowledge first written by ancient Greeks eventually found its way into the Muslim world before the 5th century AD. During the European Dark Ages (5th - 15th century) tremendous advancements were made by Muslim scientists. A facility existed in Baghdad, Iraq called the House of Wisdom which held the works of many of the great Muslim scientists of the ancient world. Some of the leading figures included Al-Kindi, Al-Farabi and Averroes who expanded upon the Greek philosophies and adapted them for the Muslim religion. Perhaps one of the greatest discoveries that came about form the Muslim world during this time was the discovery of optics by Ibn al-Haytham who lived between (965 - 1040 AD) and was a mathematician in Basra, Iraq.
